Precision Nutrition as the Concept of Dietary and Nutritional Interventions for Patients With Malignancies: A Narrative Literature Review and Perspectives

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Dietary and nutritional interventions have gained popularity among patients with cancer undergoing treatment due to the high cost of medical treatment and increased health awareness. Diet, nutrition, psychological stress, and adverse events during treatment have a significant impact on the quality of life of patients with cancer ...

The 9th Edition of the UICC TNM Classification of Malignant Tumours: Updates and Rationale for Change

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1588-1601, 1 October 2026.
ABSTRACT The standard for assessing and recording the extent of the tumour, a necessity for most malignancies, is the Tumour Node Metastases (TNM) classification. The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) TNM committee has defined this since the early 1950s.

Targeting the DNA Damage Response in Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Targeting the DNA damage response (DDR) reshapes both tumor vulnerability and antitumor immunity. DNA lesions and DDR inhibitors can promote cytosolic nucleic‐acid sensing, antigen presentation, and immune activation, but can also induce adaptive immune escape.

Ineffectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors in prostate cancer: is it just a question of ‘‐mabs’?

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 270, Issue 2, Page 139-162, October 2026.
Abstract Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most common type of neoplasm, currently treated with a variety of therapeutic agents. Although advances in treatment over the past decade have improved overall survival, patients with advanced PCa eventually progress from hormone‐sensitive PCa to metastatic castration‐resistant PCa.

Digital health interventions for psychological and cognitive care in cancer patients and caregivers: A RE‐AIM‐based systematic review

open access: yesApplied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, Volume 18, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Beyond physical challenges, cancer can cause psychological and cognitive challenges for patients, caregivers, and family members. Digital health interventions show promise in addressing these issues. However, evidence on their applicability in daily cancer care is limited. The objective of this systematic review is to evaluate the internal and

NRF2/xCT‐Mediated Antioxidant Adaptation Attenuates Apoptosis Induced by ASCT2 Inhibition in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 10, Page 2769-2789, October 2026.
ASCT2 inhibition induces ROS accumulation and activates NRF2‐dependent xCT upregulation in prostate cancer. This adaptive response partially supports residual cystine acquisition and glutathione synthesis, whereas combined ASCT2 and xCT inhibition disrupts redox compensation and predominantly promotes apoptotic cell death.

Population Pharmacokinetics of Cabozantinib: Updated Analyses Including Data in Combination With Atezolizumab in Patients With Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer and Other Tumor Types

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Cabozantinib is a small‐molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor approved for the treatment of various locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. The phase 1b COSMIC‐021 study evaluated cabozantinib as a monotherapy or in combination with atezolizumab in patients with advanced solid tumors, including castration‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC ...

Predictors of in vitro response to somatostatin and dopamine receptor‐targeted treatments are lacking in clinically non‐functioning pituitary tumors

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Clinically non‐functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (NF‐PitNETs) lack effective medical therapies, and the role of somatostatin receptor ligands (SRLs) and dopamine agonists (DAs) in this setting is controversial. We evaluated the in vitro response of NF‐PitNETs to multiple SRL and/or DA treatments, focusing on the role of receptor ...
