Lymphatic Endothelial Cells in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) are dynamic regulators of tissue homeostasis and disease remodeling. In the healthy state, LECs coordinate interstitial fluid drainage, intestinal lipid transport, and immune trafficking and tolerance. Across disease settings, however, these same programs become maladaptively reprogrammed, contributing to barrier ...

Thiazolidinediones enhance vascular endothelial growth factor expression and induce cell growth inhibition in non-small-cell lung cancer cells

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, 2010
Background It is known that thiazolidinediones are involved in regulating the expression of various genes, including the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene via peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ); VEGF is a prognostic ...

Proteomic and Phosphoproteomic Characteristics of Multiple Brain Regions in Rhesus Macaques After SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
The study found that SARS‐CoV‐2 Omicron infection causes region‐specific inflammatory, immune, synaptic, and signaling disorders in the brain, and the predicted kinases and differentially expressed proteins may serve as potential targets for COVID‐19‐related drug discovery.

A noncanonical role for Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 15, Page 4604-4623, August 2026.
The Notch signaling pathway plays a crucial role in regulating endothelial biology. Notch signaling is sensitive to hemodynamic forces and governs mechanically driven cardiovascular development, physiology, and remodeling. This study reveals a non‐canonical role for the Notch ligand Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction.

ADAM17 and its proteolytic targets in disease pathogenesis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 16, Page 4789-4804, August 2026.
ADAM17 as a multifunctional sheddase with contrasting roles across inflammatory, metabolic, cardiovascular, and neoplastic diseases. Through regulated activation by iRhom, iTAP/FRMD8, and tetraspanins, ADAM17 cleaves diverse membrane ligands and receptors, thereby promoting inflammation, fibrosis, obesity, insulin resistance, and tumor progression ...

Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Alters Neuropilin-1, PlGF, and SNAI1 Expression Levels and Predicts Breast Cancer Patients Response

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
Circulating proteins hold a potential benefit as biomarkers for precision medicine. Previously, we showed that systemic levels of neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) and its associated molecules correlated with poor-prognosis breast cancer. To further identify the role

Expression of Semaphorin 3F and Its Receptors in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer, Fallopian Tubes, and Secondary Müllerian Tissues

open access: yesObstetrics and Gynecology International, 2009
While semaphorins and their receptors appear to play a role in tumor carcinogenesis, little is known about the role of semaphorin 3F (S3F) in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) development. Therefore, we sought to determine the clinical relationship between
