A RADIOIMMUNOASSAY FOR NEUROTENSIN

Clinical Endocrinology, 1981
SUMMARYA specific radioimmunoassay for neurotensin has been developed with a sensitivity of 40 pg/ml. Neurotensin‐like immunoreactivity in human plasma shows characteristics similar to synthetic neurotensin on Sephadex G‐25 (f) gel chromatography.

Neurotensin and the neurotensin receptor‐3 in microglial cells

Journal of Neuroscience Research, 2005
AbstractMicroglia motility plays a crucial role in response to lesion or exocytotoxic damage of the cerebral tissue. The neuropeptide neurotensin elicited the migration of the human microglial cell line C13NJ by a mechanism dependent on both phosphatidylinositol‐3 kinase (PI3 kinase) and mitogen‐activated protein (MAP) kinases pathways.

The neurobiology of neurotensin: focus on neurotensin-dopamine interactions

Regulatory Peptides, 1991
Neurotensin (NT) is a tridecapeptide which fulfills many of the requisite criteria for a role as a central nervous system (CNS) neurotransmitter. It is closely associated with CNS dopamine neurons and has been shown to interact with dopamine at physiological, anatomical and behavioral levels.

Mechanisms of Regulation of Neurotensin Receptors

open access: yesPharmacology & Therapeutics, 1998
Since its discovery in 1973, the neuropeptide neurotensin has been demonstrated to be involved in the control of a broad variety of physiological activities in both the central nervous system and in the periphery.

The effect of neurotensin on food consumption in the rat

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pharmacology, 1982
The effects of neurotensin on feeding behavior were studied in rats. Intracerebroventricular administration of neurotensin (3.3–30 μg) produced a dose-related decrease in food intake in 24 h food deprived rats.

Molecular cloning of a levocabastine-sensitive neurotensin binding site [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1996
A search for sequences homologous to the neurotensin receptor cDNA in a rat hypothalamic library has identified a novel neurotensin receptor (NTR-2). The 1539 bp cDNA encodes a 416 amino acid protein and shows highest homology to the previously cloned ...
