Harnessing the Biological Responses Induced by Nanomaterials for Enhanced Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
Nanomaterial (NM)‐induced toxicity can be strategically repurposed for cancer therapy. This review summarizes the mechanism by which NMs selectively activate specific cellular processes to regulate cell fate independently. We also discussed how NMs‐induced biological responses can be leveraged as therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.

Animal models of cisplatin‐induced neuropathic pain

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This article illustrates the modeling process of a cisplatin‐induced neuropathic pain model in rats or mice. Multiple modeling tests are required for rats or mice before, during, and after modeling. The appropriate injection method, dose, and modeling method are selected, and multiple assays are chosen for evaluation and comparison.

Effects of Dictyophora polysaccharide on cerebellar Purkinje cell degeneration in a chronic alcohol mouse model

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In an ethanol (EtOH)‐treated mouse model, increases in the NLRP3 inflammasome proteins, PC degeneration, and motor coordination disorders were observed. DIP suppressed the NLRP3‐ASC‐caspase‐1 signaling pathway, and alleviated the motor deficits and cerebellar pathological changes in chronic EtOH‐treated mice.

Green‐to‐red spectral labeling: A novel polysynaptic retrograde tracing strategy in the marker footprint mouse model

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
To compensate for the fluorescence loss in rabies virus–derived neuronal tracing tools caused by non‐cytolytic immune clearance (NCLIC) in retrograde tracing, we developed a novel green‐to‐red spectral labeling (GTR) strategy based on the NCLIC phenomenon and developed a novel marker footprints mouse to support the strategy.

Inhibition of Membrane Na+ Channels by A Type Botulinum Toxin at Femtomolar Concentrations in Central and Peripheral Neurons

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2012
Recent studies have demonstrated that the botulinum neurotoxins inhibit the release of acetylcholine, glutamate, GABA, and glycine in central nerve system (CNS) neurons.

Long‐term immunosuppression of rabbits through oral tacrolimus administration

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Oral gavage of rabbits with 1.5 mg/kg/d of tacrolimus allows for an efficient long‐term (1 year) immunosuppression with minimal side effects and no loss of animals. lmmunosuppressed rabbits are a convenient animal model to investigate the long‐term efficacy of human allografts in vivo.
