Piperidinyl-3-phosphinic acids as novel uptake inhibitors of the neurotransmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)

open access: closedBioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 1999
Piperidinyl-3-phosphinic acid 2, piperidinyl-3-methylphosphinic acid 3 and N-(4,4-diphenyl-3-butenyl)piperidinyl-3-phosphinic acid 4 have been synthesized as bioisosteres of the corresponding amino carboxylic acids, which are potent and specific GABA-uptake inhibitors.

Chronic effects of fluoxetine, a selective inhibitor of serotonin uptake, on neurotransmitter receptors

open access: closedJournal of Neural Transmission, 1985
Fluoxetine administration to rats at a dose of 10 mg/kg i.p. daily up to 12 or 24 days failed to change the concentration-dependent binding of [3H]WB4101, [3H]clonidine and [3H]dihydroalprenolol to alpha 1-, alpha 2- and beta-adrenergic receptors, respectively; [3H]quinuclidinyl benzilate to muscarinic receptors; [3H]pyrilamine to histamine H1 ...
