Effects of Electroacupuncture at ST36 on Visceral Pain and Inflammatory Markers in IBS Rats

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
Electroacupuncture (EA) at ST36 significantly reduced visceral pain and colonic inflammation in IBS model rats. EA increased pain thresholds, lowered AWR scores, and downregulated key inflammatory mediators (IL‐1β, IL‐6, TNF‐α, TRPV1, NF‐κB). These findings highlight ST36‐targeted EA as a promising therapeutic strategy for IBS visceral hypersensitivity

Contribution of Sympathetic Sensory Coupling to Craniofacial Nociception

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stress and anxiety are associated with increased pain intensity in temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) patients. It is possible that this association is due to a direct interaction between the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. This narrative review examines evidence for a potential sympathetic sensory interaction in deep craniofacial ...

Sensory and Sympathetic Nerve Localization in Mouse Temporomandibular Joint and Knee Joint Neuro‐Musculoskeletal Tissues

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Sympathetic‐sensory coupling is increasingly implicated in joint homeostasis and disease. Towards the long‐term goal of deciphering its role in temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), we characterised the spatial relationships of sympathetic and sensory nerves and their receptors in the mouse temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and trigeminal ...

Nitrate Prevents Sjögren's Disease by Modulating T Helper Cells via NF‐κB Pathway Suppression

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Sjögren's disease (SjD) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by abnormal T helper (Th) cell distribution in the salivary glands (SGs). Although nitrate can regulate immune responses and preserve SGs function, its preventive effects on SjD remain unexplored.

Optimization of photobiomodulation therapy for spinal cord injury: A review

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy in the red and near‐infrared range can significantly modulate the secondary injury response and promote the reparative and regenerative potential of neural tissue after spinal cord injury (SCI). At present, due to the nature of delivery methods, the most effective dose and irradiance at the injury site to optimize ...
