Molecular insights into Solanum sisymbriifolium’s resistance against Globodera pallida via RNA-seq
Background The presence of potato cyst nematodes (PCN) causes a significant risk to potato crops globally, leading to reduced yields and economic losses. While the plant Solanum sisymbriifolium is known for its resistance to PCN and can be used as a trap

Participating in Next Generation Sequencing [PDF]
On February 20, 2015, as part of the Precision Medicine Initiative, announced by President Obama, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) held a meeting at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) all day. The meeting was titled “Optimizing FDA's Regulatory Oversight of Next Generation Sequencing Diagnostic Tests” (Food and Drug Administration, 2015 ...

Erratum: Guidelines for diagnostic next-generation sequencing [PDF]
Abstract We present, on behalf of EuroGentest and the European Society of Human Genetics, guidelines for the evaluation and validation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications for the diagnosis of genetic disorders. The work was performed by a group of laboratory geneticists and bioinformaticians, and discussed with clinical ...

Palindromic length sequence of the ruler sequence and of the period-doubling sequence [PDF]
In this article, we study the palindromic length sequences of the ruler sequence and of the period-doubling sequence. We give a precise formula of the palindromic length sequence of the first one and find a lower bound of the limit superior of the palindromic length sequence of the last one.

Toll‐like receptors (TLRs) are important in the innate immune system. This study explores the zinc‐binding ability of the TLR2 TIR domain (TLR2TIR). We found that TLR2TIR binds zinc with nanomolar affinity through its cysteine residues. Two of them, C673 and C713, are vital for receptor activation, indicating that zinc may play a role in initiating ...

Clinical Metagenomic Next-Generation Sequencing for Pathogen Detection.
Nearly all infectious agents contain DNA or RNA genomes, making sequencing an attractive approach for pathogen detection. The cost of high-throughput or next-generation sequencing has been reduced by several orders of magnitude since its advent in 2004 ...
