NF-κB Signaling Pathways in Osteoarthritic Cartilage Destruction

open access: yesCells, 2019
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a type of joint disease associated with wear and tear, inflammation, and aging. Mechanical stress along with synovial inflammation promotes the degradation of the extracellular matrix in the cartilage, leading to the breakdown of ...

Imine Crosslinked, Injectable, and Self‐Healing Fucoidan Hydrogel with Immunomodulatory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops an injectable fucoidan‐based hydrogel with tunable properties for tissue engineering. By oxidizing fucoidan (OFu) to introduce aldehydes, imine crosslinks are formed with amine‐containing polymers, enabling self‐healing, injectability, and long‐term stability (≥28 days). The OFu‐gelatin hydrogel demonstrated biocompatibility, immune‐

Mechanisms of NF-κB p65 and strategies for therapeutic manipulation

open access: yesJournal of Inflammation Research, 2018
The transcription factor NF-κB is a critical regulator of immune and inflammatory responses. In mammals, the NF-κB/Rel family comprises five members: p50, p52, p65 (Rel-A), c-Rel, and Rel-B proteins, which form homo- or heterodimers and remain as an ...

From Mechanoelectric Conversion to Tissue Regeneration: Translational Progress in Piezoelectric Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent progress in piezoelectric materials for regenerative medicine, emphasizing their ability to convert mechanical stimuli into bioelectric signals that promote tissue repair. Key discussions cover the intrinsic piezoelectric properties of biological tissues, co‐stimulation cellular mechanisms for tissue regeneration, and ...

The Scap-SREBP1-S1P/S2P lipogenesis signal orchestrates the homeostasis and spatiotemporal activation of NF-κB

open access: yesCell Reports, 2023
Summary: The nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) pathway plays essential roles in innate and adaptive immunity, but little is known how NF-κB signaling is compartmentalized and spatiotemporally activated in the cytoplasm.

Ultra‐Fine 3D Bioprinting of Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel for in Vitro Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D bioprinting merges tissue engineering and additive manufacturing to create biological structures. A bioink is developed by modifying hyaluronic acid, a natural extracellular matrix polymer, with cysteine. Potassium iodide is later added to tune gelation kinetics, enabling fine printing with a 32G needle.

Harnessing Photo‐Energy Conversion in Nanomaterials for Precision Theranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing photo‐energy conversion in nanomaterials enables precision theranostics through light‐driven mechanisms such as photoluminescence, photothermal, photoelectric, photoacoustic, photo‐triggered surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and photodynamic processes. This review explores six fundamental principles of photo‐energy conversion, recent
