RNA silencing suppressor genes derived from six virus genera were transformed into Nicotiana benthamiana and N. tabacum plants. These suppressors were P1 of Rice yellow mottle virus (RYMV), P1 of Cocksfoot mottle virus, P19 of Tomato bushy stunt virus ...

Identification of precursor transcripts for 6 novel miRNAs expands the diversity on the genomic organisation and expression of miRNA genes in rice [PDF]
The plant miRNAs represent an important class of endogenous small RNAs that guide cleavage of an mRNA target or repress its translation to control development and adaptation to stresses.

UBP12 and UBP13 negatively regulate the activity of the ubiquitin-dependent peptidases DA1, DAR1 and DAR2 [PDF]
Protein ubiquitination is a very diverse post-translational modification leading to protein degradation or delocalization, or altering protein activity. In Arabidopsis thaliana, two E3 ligases, BIG BROTHER (BB) and DA2, activate the latent peptidases DA1,

Measuring Secretion of Capsidiol in Leaf Tissues of Nicotiana benthamiana
Plant species produce a wide variety of antimicrobial metabolites to protect themselves against potential pathogens in natural environments. Phytoalexins are low molecular weight compounds produced by plants in response to attempted attacks of pathogens.

A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.

Rice gall dwarf virus (RGDV), transmitted biparentally by leafhopper vector to their offspring, exploits the capsid protein to induce inheritable ovarian apoptosis via insulin‐driven PI3K/AKT/FoxO signaling axis. This mechanism enhances infection but reduces female reproductive fitness, causing inefficient maternal transmission.

The StERF10‐StGSH1 module coordinates glutathione (GSH) biosynthesis under low‐phosphorus stress. The low‐phosphate‐induced AP2/ERF transcription factor StERF10 directly activates the transcription of StGSH1 and enhances GSH accumulation. Consequently, GSH scavenges reactive oxygen species and provides sulfur for sulfolipid synthesis, facilitating the ...

Molecular studies of Potato mop-top virus (PMTV) in transgenic N. benthamiana and S. tuberosum
Resistance to Potato mop-top virus (PMTV) was studied in Nicotiana benthamiana and potato (Solanum tuberosum cv.Saturna) transformed with the coat protein (CP) gene of PMTV. In N.

Phosphorylation of TGB1 by protein kinase CK2 promotes barley stripe mosaic virus movement in monocots and dicots. [PDF]
The barley stripe mosaic virus (BSMV) triple gene block 1 (TGB1) protein is required for virus cell-to-cell movement. However, little information is available about how these activities are regulated by post-translational modifications. In this study, we
