Biosynthesis and Identification of Clenbuterol Metabolites in Urine and In Vitro Microsome Incubation Samples Using UHPLC‐Q‐Exactive Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry: A Comparison Between Human and Bovine Metabolism

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Clenbuterol metabolism was studied in bovine and human urine using LC‐Q‐Exactive‐Orbitrap MS; eight metabolites were identified in human and bovine samples as well as a novel N‐methylated form. Four urinary metabolites specific to cattle were detected and identified.

Identification of Candidate Blood Biomarkers of Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Administration Using Targeted Polar Metabolomics by HILIC‐MS/MS

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Using targeted HILIC‐MS/MS metabolomics, inosine and hypoxanthine were identified as potential biomarkers of EPO administration. Their consistent and sensitive plasma responses highlight their promise for inclusion in the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), warranting further investigation to enhance anti‐doping detection strategies. Whole tissue imaging of cellular boundaries at sub‐micron resolutions for deep learning cell segmentation: Applications in the analysis of epithelial bending of ectoderm

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background To understand cellular morphology, biologists have relied on traditional optical microscopy of tissues combined with tissue clearing protocols to image structures deep within tissues. Unfortunately, these protocols often struggle to retain cell boundary markers, especially at high enough resolutions necessary for precise cell ...
