All Spodoptera frugiperda were rice strain with two haplotypes, likely from a common mixed source. ABCC2 and Ace‐1 mutations, conferring resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis and organophosphates/carbamates, respectively, were detected. Abstract BACKGROUND The invasive fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda, FAW), a highly destructive pest affecting more ...

High Throughput Random Mutagenesis and Single Molecule Real Time Sequencing of the Muscle Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor. [PDF]
High throughput random mutagenesis is a powerful tool to identify which residues are important for the function of a protein, and gain insight into its structure-function relation.

An expanding range of targets for kynurenine metabolites of tryptophan [PDF]
The kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism accounts for most of the tryptophan that is not committed to protein synthesis and includes compounds active in the nervous and immune systems.

Antiamnesic activity of the nicotinic agonist DBO-83 in mice [PDF]
The effect of administration of DBO-83 on memory processes was evaluated in the mouse passive avoidance test. DBO-83 (1–5 mgkg–1 ip) prevented amnesia induced by scopolamine (1.5 mgkg–1 ip), mecamylamine (20 mgkg–1 ip) and dihydro-β-erythroidine (10 μg per mouse i.c.v.). In the same experimental conditions, DBO-83 (10 mgkg–1 ip) also prevented baclofen

Malignancies and immunoglobulin G4‐related disease
Immunoglobulin G4‐related disease (IgG4‐RD) is associated with increased cancer risk. Malignancies affect both IgG4‐RD involved organs, such as the lung, pancreas, bile duct, and prostate, and noninvolved organs, such as the gastrointestinal duct. B‐cell neoplasms constitute a proportion of the malignancies linked to this disease.

Generative artificial intelligence-enabled dynamic detection of nicotine-related circuits [PDF]
The identification of addiction-related circuits is critical for explaining addiction processes and developing addiction treatments. And models of functional addiction circuits developed from functional imaging are an effective tool for discovering and verifying addiction circuits.

Arachidonic Acid as a Possible Negative Feedback Inhibitor of Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors on Neurons [PDF]
Neuronal acetylcholine receptors, being highly permeable to calcium, are likely to regulate calcium-dependent events in neurons. Arachidonic acid is a membrane-permeant second messenger that can be released from membrane phospholipids by phospholipases ...

Defining nicotinic agonist binding surfaces through photoaffinity labeling.
Nicotinic acetylcholine (ACh) receptor (nAChR) agonists are potential therapeutic agents for neurological dysfunction. In the present study, the homopentameric mollusk ACh binding protein (AChBP), used as a surrogate for the extracellular ligand-binding ...

Examining the predictive validity of alcohol‐seeking following punishment‐imposed abstinence in mice
Animal models of alcohol use disorder are critical to understand the neurochemical mechanisms underlying this disorder to inform targeted medication development. However, quite often the validity of commonly used animal models remains untested. Here, we optimized a highly used model of abstinence in mice and demonstrated the predictive validity of the ...
