Vibrational spectrum and structure of nido-carborane 11-CH3-2,7-C2B9H12

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1986
1. The full vibrational spectra of the nido-carborane 11-CR3-2, 7-C2B9H12 and its μ-dideutero derivative were obtained. An assignment is proposed for some of the frequencies. 2. The Raman spectrum contained broad bands belonging to the stretching vibrations of the extra-hydrogens.

X-Ray crystal and molecular structure of the nido-carborane B7C2H7Me2

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1972
The nido-carborane B7C2H7Me2 occurs as a bicapped Archimedean antiprism with the 6 position missing, methylated carbon atoms in the 1 and 2 cage positions, and bridging hydrogen atoms between the 7–10 and 9–10 positions.

An ab initio/IGLO/NMR study of the nido-carborane C2B6H10

Inorganic Chemistry, 1992
The structure of the eight-vertex nido-carborane C 2 B 6 H 10 has been investigated by employing the ab initio/IGLO/NMR method. The experimental 11 B NMR chemical shifts for C 2 B 6 H 10 are compatible with three different structures (one static and two requiring fluxionality).

Solvothermal Synthesis and Characterization of Two New Nickel Nido-Carborane Diphosphine Complexes

Journal of Cluster Science, 2011
Solvothermal synthesis method has been successfully introduced into the diphosphine carborane system, and two new nickel complexes containing nido-carborane diphosphine ligand [7,8-(PPh2)2-7,8-C2B9H10]− with the formula [Ni2(μ-Cl)(μ-OOPPh2){7,8-(PPh2)2-7,8-C2B9H10}2]·CH2Cl2 (1) and [H3O][NiBr2] {7,8-(PPh2)2-7,8-C2B9H10}·C6H6 (2) were obtained by the ...

Zwitterionic nido-Carborane-Fused Phospholes

Organic Letters, 2019
Using readily available and easy-to-handle reagents, a novel type of nido-carborane-fused phosphole was obtained from a simple procedure. Its crystallographic structure was determined, and DFT calculations have been performed, unraveling the key influence of the zwitterionic structure on the photophysical properties.

PEGylated liposome encapsulating nido-carborane showed significant tumor suppression in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT)

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2020
Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a binary radiotherapy based on nuclear reactions that occur when boron-10 is irradiated with neutrons, which result in the ejection of high-energy alpha particles. Successful BNCT requires the efficient delivery of a boron-containing compound to effect high concentrations in tumor cells while minimizing uptake in

Six-vertex nido-carborane structures with unusual CHB bridges or endo-CH hydrogens

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1998
Abstract The experimentally-observed C2B4Et6H2 intermediate, claimed to be the first nido-2-carba-pentaborane(8) derivative, is shown by the ab initio/GIAO/NMR method actually to be a substituted nido-2,4-dicarba-hexaborane(8) (10). Both nido-2,4-dicarba-hexaboranes(8) and nido-2,3,5-tricarba-hexaboranes(7) have unsymmetrical endo-CH's which are ...

A Facile Synthesis of Nido-Carborane Polymers via Dynamic Self-Assembly by Poly(carboxybetaine methacrylate)

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2021
Carborane are widely applied in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) field, but it is difficult to perform biocompatibility with cells due to its own water solubility differences, so how to solve the water solubility problem has always been the focus of research.
