Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.) Nodulating Rhizobia in Panxi, China, Are Diverse at Species, Plant Growth Promoting Ability, and Symbiosis Related Gene Levels

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
We isolated 65 rhizobial strains from faba bean (Vicia faba L.) from Panxi, China, studied their plant growth promoting ability with nitrogen free hydroponics, genetic diversity with clustered analysis of combined ARDRA and IGS-RFLP, and phylogeny by ...

A ‘Genome‐First’ Framework for Next‐Generation Bioinputs: From Functional Mining to Rational Synthetic Microbial Communities

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 5, May 2026.
I propose a ‘genome‐first’ framework to collapse the phenotypic bottleneck in bioinput discovery. By integrating multi‐layered genome mining and reverse ecology, this paradigm enables the rational design of stable synthetic microbial communities for a data‐driven and sustainable agricultural bioeconomy.

Identifikasi dan Kekerabatan Rhizobia Pohon Mangium dan Sengon Berdasarkan nodD1 dan nifH

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Pertanian Indonesia, 2022
Rhizobia from legumes Acacia mangium (Mangium) and Paraserianthes falcataria (Sengon) have often been isolated and studied for their applications to plants, but studies on the nod and nif genes are still lacking.

An open reading frame upstream from the nifH gene of Klebsiella pneumoniae [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
An open reading frame upstream from nifHDK operon of Klebsiella pneumoniae had been described. The orientation of this open reading frame is opposite to that of nifHDK and sequence homology was found between the open reading frame promoter and the ...

Microbial protein out of thin air : fixation of nitrogen gas by an autotrophic hydrogen-oxidizing bacterial enrichment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
For the production of edible microbial protein (MP), ammonia generated by the Haber-Bosch process or reclaimed ammonia from waste streams is typically considered as the nitrogen source.

Polymerase Chain Reaction. Perturbation Theory and Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence‐Experimental Microbiome Analysis: Applications to Ancient DNA and Tree Soil Metagenomics Cases of Study

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Perturbation Theory and Machine Learning framework integrates perturbation theory and machine learning to classify genetic sequences, distinguishing ancient DNA from modern controls and predicting tree health from soil metagenomic data.

Changes in Soil Rhizobia Diversity and Their Effects on the Symbiotic Efficiency of Soybean Intercropped with Maize

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
It has been established that maize/soybean intercropping can improve nitrogen use efficiency. However, few studies have addressed how maize/soybean intercropping affects nitrogen-fixing bacterial diversity and N fixation efficiency of intercropped ...

A reduced fraction of plant N derived from atmospheric N (%Ndfa) and reduced rhizobial nifH gene numbers indicate a lower capacity for nitrogen fixation in nodules of white clover exposed to long-term CO 2 enrichment

open access: yes, 2013
Using the δ 15 N natural abundance method, we found that the fraction of nitrogen derived from atmospheric N (%Ndfa) in field-grown white clover ( Trifolium repens L.) plants was significantly lower (72.0% vs.

Seasonal nitrate drawdown transitions lake ecosystems from phosphorus to nitrogen deficiency in annual cycles

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Phytoplankton biomass is often limited by nitrogen (N) and/or phosphorus (P). Quantifying the relative availability of N and P in an ecosystem is useful in indicating nutrient limitation status. In subtropical lakes, nitrate availability generally follows a seasonal pattern with maxima in the late winter/early spring and minima in late summer ...

Marine bacterial richness increases towards higher latitudes in the eastern Indian Ocean

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, 2018
We investigated the bacterial community structure in surface waters along a 2500 km transect in the eastern Indian Ocean. Using high throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene, we measured a significant latitudinal increase in bacterial richness from 800
