Construction of Oxygen‐ and Nitrogen‐based Heterocycles from p‐Quinone Methides

The chemical record, 2021
In the last few years, there has been an explosive growth in the area of para‐quinone methide (p‐QM) chemistry. This boom is actually due to the unique reactivity pattern of p‐QMs, and also their remarkable synthetic applications. In fact, p‐QMs serve as

Sulfenylnitrene-mediated nitrogen-atom insertion for late-stage skeletal editing of N-heterocycles.

Science
Given the prevalence of nitrogen-containing heterocycles in commercial drugs, selectively incorporating a single nitrogen atom is a promising scaffold hopping approach to enhance chemical diversity in drug discovery libraries.

Nitrogen-Rich Heterocycles

2007
Many advantages accrue from nitrogen-rich heterocyclic compounds compared to traditional molecular energetic compounds. Utilization of heterocyclic nitrogen-containing cations and anions in energetic salts gives rise to lower vapor pressures, higher heats of formation and higher densities. Additionally, smaller amounts of hydrogen and carbon contribute

Cyclometallated nitrogen heterocycles

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 2003
The cyclometallation of four different classes of nitrogen heterocycle (pyridazine, tetrazines, pyrazines and pyrimidines) by palladium and platinum has been studied. Pyridazines readily form singly and doubly cyclometallated compounds, whilst pyrazines only metallate once.

Recent advances in the asymmetric synthesis of pharmacology-relevant nitrogen heterocycles via stereoselective aza-Michael reactions.

Organic and biomolecular chemistry, 2019
The prevalence of nitrogen containing heterocycles in natural products and pharmaceuticals is a doubtless fact. In this review, recent applications of a stereoselective aza-Michael reaction as an efficient tool for the asymmetric synthesis of naturally ...

Nitrogen-fused Heterocycles: Empowering Anticancer Drug Discovery.

Medicinal chemistry
The worldwide impact of cancer is further compounded by the constraints of current anticancer medications, which frequently exhibit a lack of selectivity, raise safety apprehensions, result in significant adverse reactions, and encounter resistance ...

Recent advances in biocatalysis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles.

Biotechnology Advances, 2021
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles (N-heterocycles) are ubiquitous in both organisms and pharmaceutical products. Biocatalysts are providing green approaches for synthesizing various N-heterocycles under mild reaction conditions. This review summarizes the

Review. Inverse coordination. Organic nitrogen heterocycles as coordination centers. A survey of molecular topologies and systematization. Part 2. Six-membered rings

Journal of coordination chemistry, 2019
The review is a follow-up of a previous article (I. Haiduc, J. Coord. Chem. (2019). DOI: 10.1080/00958972.2019.1641702), which introduced structures with five-membered nitrogen heterocycles as inverse coordination centers. This review presents a panorama
