Nitrogen heterocycles from trimethylbenzenes

open access: yesHeteroatom Chemistry, 2004
AbstractThe reaction between 1,2,4‐trimethylbenzene 1, isobutyric aldehyde, and cyanoacetic ester afforded a mixture of three products: 3,3,5,6,8‐ pentamethyl‐1,2,3,4‐tetraisoquinolylidene‐1‐acetic acid ether (2) and its 3,3,5,6,7‐pentamethyl‐(3)‐ and 3,3,6,7,8‐pentamethyl‐1,2,3,4‐tetraisoquinolyli‐ dene‐1‐acetic acid ether isomers (3) in ratio 1:5:1. ©

Radical Cyclization of Ynamides to Nitrogen Heterocycles

open access: yes, 2022
An efficient radical cyclization of suitably functionalized ynamides to nitrogen-containing heterocycles is reported. Upon reaction with tributyltin hydride in the presence of catalytic amounts of AIBN in toluene at 80 °C, a range of ynamides bearing a N-

Atropisomerism in Boron-Nitrogen Heterocycles/Atropisomerism in Boron-Nitrogen Heterocycles

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 1987
Abstract Atropisomerism owing to hindered rotation about the N-aryl bond is observed in 4,5-diethyl-2,2,3-trimethyl-1-(o-trifluormethyl)phenyl-2,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,5-azasila-(2) and -azastanna-boroles (5). The compounds 2 and 5 are characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra and 1H, 11B, 13 C, 29Si and119Sn NMR.

Insertion of ammonia into alkenes to build aromatic N-heterocycles

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Aromatic heterocycles containing nitrogen are ubiquitous in biologically relevant small molecules. Here the authors show an unorthodox methodology for their synthesis, by inserting the nitrogen atom into a carbon ring, with ammonia in electrochemical ...

Monofluorinated Nitrogen Containing Heterocycles: Synthesis, Characterization and Fluorine Effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A straight forward synthesis and efficient introduction of fluoromethyl group in nitrogen heterocycles is reported. Starting from the respective NH heterocycles fluoromethylation is performed with fluoroiodomethane and proceeds under mild reaction ...

The Nitrogen Heterocycle Content of Meteorites and Their Significance for the Origin of Life

open access: yesLife, 2018
Carbonaceous chondrites are very primitive meteorites that are rich in carbon. They contain many soluble organic compounds, including nitrogen heterocycles.

Synthesis of arylamines and N-heterocycles by direct catalytic nitrogenation using N2

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Ammonia and nitric acid are key platform chemicals to introduce nitrogen into organic molecules, however gaseous N2 would be a more direct and available source of nitrogen.

Microorganisms in Chemistry of Nitrogenous Heterocycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The monograph is devoted to microbiological methods of obtaining organic compounds from a series of nitrogenous heterocycles (azaarenes, quinolones and saturated nitrogenous heterocycles). It is proposed alternative ways of synthesizing compounds that are difficult to obtain using conventional methods of organic chemistry.
