Necrosis is a form of cell death that results in rupture of the plasma membrane and the release of cellular contents, and it can give rise to sterile inflammation in the retina and other tissues. The secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)

Abstract Aim Mebendazole (MBZ), a benzimidazole anthelmintic with established clinical use, has emerged as a repurposing candidate for primary brain tumours due to its multimodal anticancer actions and central nervous system penetrance. This systematic review synthesizes preclinical and clinical evidence evaluating MBZ's efficacy, mechanisms of action ...

Aim In the GENESECT study, no significant gemcitabine (GEM) metabolism‐related germline genetic polymorphisms (GPs) were identified because approximately 70% of patients received combination therapy with nab‐paclitaxel, which has metabolic pathways different from GEM.

Breast cancer, as the most common cancer, has surpassed lung cancer worldwide. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been linked to the onset of cancer and its prognosis in recent studies.

NP‐SF, designed to target macrophage Dectin‐1 and activated platelets, selectively accumulated in ischemic myocardium, where it was taken up by macrophages after platelet hitchhiking. By inhibiting NLRC5‐related PANoptosis, NP‐SF significantly attenuated pathological damage, and effectively preserved cardiac function in a murine ischemia–reperfusion ...

Activation and Autoinhibition Mechanisms of NLR Immune Receptor Pi36 in Rice
Nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat receptors (NLRs) are the most important and largest class of immune receptors in plants. The Pi36 gene encodes a canonical CC-NBS-LRR protein that confers resistance to rice blast fungal infections. Here, we show that the CC domain of Pi36 plays a role in cell death induction.

Despite the immunomodulatory mechanism of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), systemic glucocorticoids are commonly used in advanced non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Evidence regarding their effects on ICI outcomes is inconsistent, in part due to confounding by indication and immortal time bias.

Abstract Aims Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are the cornerstone of modern oncology; however, side effects such as ICI‐related myocarditis (irM) can be fatal. Recently, Bonaca proposed criteria for irM; however, it is unknown if they correlate well with cardiovascular (CV) ICI‐related adverse events.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to investigate the association between methylmalonic acid (MMA) and epilepsy prevalence and to explore potential inflammatory and nutritional pathways underlying this association. Methods This study included adults aged ≥ 20 years from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011–2014.

Dissection of Two Complex Clusters of Resistance Genes in Lettuce (Lactuca sativa)
Of the over 50 phenotypic resistance genes mapped in lettuce, 25 colocalize to three major resistance clusters (MRC) on chromosomes 1, 2, and 4. Similarly, the majority of candidate resistance genes encoding nucleotide binding-leucine rich repeat (NLR ...
