Development of cytosine and adenine base editors for maize precision breeding

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
A series of maize cytosine and adenine base editors was developed using various deaminase variants, enabling efficient multiplex genome editing in maize. Precise editing of the ZmACC1/2 genes generated herbicide‐tolerant maize germplasm, offering a solution for weed management in maize‐soybean intercropping systems.

Rice black‐streaked dwarf virus‐encoded P6 protein impairs OsPelota‐mediated antiviral RNA decay defense via promoting OsSCE1b ubiquitination and degradation in rice

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The P6 protein encoded by rice black‐streaked dwarf virus enhances degradation of the rice SUMO E2 conjugating enzyme OsSCE1b through the ubiquitin/26S proteasome pathway; OsSCE1b degradation results in decreased SUMOylation of OsPelota, thereby suppressing RNA decay‐dependent antiviral defenses in rice. ABSTRACT Rice black‐streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV)

Cointegrating Polynomial Regressions With Power Law Trends

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The common practice in cointegrating polynomial regressions (CPRs) often confines nonlinearities in the variable of interest to stochastic trends, thereby overlooking the possibility that they may be caused by deterministic components. As an extension, we propose univariate and multivariate CPRs that incorporate power law deterministic trends.

The role of VND transcription factors in xylem vessel development and secondary wall formation

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Transitioning from aquatic to terrestrial life required specialized vascular tissues, with xylem enabling water transport and structural support. Vascular‐related NAC (NAM, ATAF1/2, CUC2) domain (VND) transcription factors regulate xylem development by orchestrating secondary cell wall biosynthesis and programmed cell death.
