The miRNA Pull Out Assay as a Method to Validate the miR-28-5p Targets Identified in Other Tumor Contexts in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, 2017
miR-28-5p is an intragenic miRNA which is underexpressed in several tumor types showing a tumor suppressor (TS) activity. Routinely, the known miR-28-5p targets are validated in specific tumor contexts but it is unclear whether these targets are also ...

How Large is the Universe of RNA-Like Motifs? A Clustering Analysis of RNA Graph Motifs Using Topological Descriptors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We introduce a computational topology-based approach with unsupervised machine-learning algorithms to estimate the database size and content of RNA-like graph topologies. Specifically, we apply graph theory enumeration to generate all 110,667 possible 2D dual graphs for vertex numbers ranging from 2 to 9.

The miRNA and PD-1/PD-L1 signaling axis: an arsenal of immunotherapeutic targets against lung cancer

open access: yesCell Death Discovery
Lung cancer is a severe challenge to the health care system with intrinsic resistance to first and second-line chemo/radiotherapies. In view of the sterile environment of lung cancer, several immunotherapeutic drugs including nivolumab, pembrolizumab ...

GINS1 promotes the proliferation and migration of glioma cells through USP15-mediated deubiquitination of TOP2A

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: GINS1 is a GINS complex subunit that functions along with the MCM2-7 complex and Cdc45 in eukaryotic DNA replication. Despite the significance of the GINS complex in the switch between quiescence and proliferation of glioma cells inside and ...

Clinical Significance of LINC00261 in the Pathogenesis of Pancreatic, Colorectal, Hepatocellular, and Gallbladder Cancer

open access: yesDiseases
Pancreatic (PC), colorectal (CRC), hepatocellular (HCC), and gallbladder (GC) cancers together account for nearly 20% of all cancer cases. However, specific biomarkers and therapeutic targets for these cancers are lacking.

Parametric analysis of RNA folding [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We extend recent methods for parametric sequence alignment to the parameter space for scoring RNA folds. This involves the construction of an RNA polytope. A vertex of this polytope corresponds to RNA secondary structures with common branching. We use this polytope and its normal fan to study the effect of varying three parameters in the free energy ...
