Research review on non-structural protein 3 (ns3) of classical swine fever virus and its potential applications in vaccine development [PDF]

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi
Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV) is a virus that poses a serious threat to the pig farming industry, and its non-structural protein 3 (NS3) plays a key role in the virus"s replication, pathogenicity, and immune evasion.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Modeling of tertiary and quaternary protein structures by homology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The structure of a protein is crucial to understand its function. Despite this importance, experimentally solved structures are only available for a small portion of the currently known protein sequences.

Discovery and Computational Analyses of Novel Small Molecule Zika Virus Inhibitors

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Zika virus (ZIKV), one of the flaviviruses, has attracted worldwide attention since its large epidemics around Brazil. Association of ZIKV infection with microcephaly and neurological problems such as Guillain–Barré syndrome has prompted ...

Similarity of the non-amyloid-β component and C-terminal tail of monomeric and tetrameric alpha-synuclein with 14-3-3 sigma

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2021
Alpha-synuclein (αSyn) is often described as a predominantly disordered protein that has a propensity to self-assemble into toxic oligomers that are found in patients with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Rift Valley Fever Virus Non-Structural Protein S Is Associated with Nuclear Translocation of Active Caspase-3 and Inclusion Body Formation

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Rift Valley fever phlebovirus (RVFV) causes Rift Valley fever (RVF), an emerging zoonotic disease that causes abortion storms and high mortality rates in young ruminants as well as severe or even lethal complications in a subset of human patients.
