Transcriptome and proteome analyses reveal divergent adaptive strategies in nasopharyngeal epithelial cells and nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells under ultra‐low background radiation

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the ultra‐low background radiation environment in deep underground laboratories significantly inhibits the proliferation of both normal nasopharyngeal epithelial cells (HNEPC) and nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells (HNE‐1) cells, with malignant cells exhibiting higher sensitivity.

Phytohormone-responsive long noncoding RNAs in Brachypodium distachyon

open access: yes, 2016
High-throughput sequencing technologies brought a deeper insight into cell transcriptomes, revealing a much more complex scenario in RNA molecules biogenesis and functions.

Cellular diversity of the developing chick trigeminal ganglion at single‐cell resolution

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The trigeminal ganglion (TG) integrates sensory input from the face and jaw and is derived from two embryonic cell populations: neural crest and cranial placode. These populations interact during TG development to coordinate specification, differentiation, and organization, but the molecular characteristics of the heterogeneous cell

Integrative Genomic and Functional Investigation of the Multi‐Layered Genetic Architecture Between Anorexia Nervosa and Bone Loss

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Bone loss is a severe and often irreversible complication of anorexia nervosa (AN), yet the genetic mechanisms underlying this comorbidity remain underexplored. This study focuses on constructing a comprehensive genetic architecture between AN and estimated calcaneal bone mineral density (eBMD).

Oligogenic inheritance in epilepsy: A systematic exome‐wide analysis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Genetic factors contribute to the majority of epilepsies, but the exact genetic cause remains unknown in most patients. Incomplete penetrance and variable expressivity are frequent, and recent studies showed a burden of deleterious variants in epilepsy genes, suggesting a role for oligogenic inheritance.

Deep whole genome sequencing of epileptogenic brain lesions

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Malformations of cortical development and low‐grade epilepsy‐associated tumors often cause drug‐resistant lesional focal epilepsy (LFE) amenable to surgical treatment. Genetic testing of resected brain tissue can provide diagnostic and mechanistic information and may eventually support personalized treatment approaches.

Transcriptomic analysis reveals distinct expression patterns in focal cortical dysplasia

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is a common cause of drug‐resistant epilepsy in children and adults and exhibits substantial clinical and histopathological heterogeneity. However, morphological classification alone does not fully explain variability in epileptogenicity, disease severity, or treatment response.

Precision therapies for genetic epilepsies in 2025: Promises and pitfalls

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract By targeting the underlying etiology, precision therapies offer an exciting paradigm shift to improve the stagnant outcomes of drug‐resistant epilepsies, including developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. Unlike conventional antiseizure medications (ASMs) which only treat the symptoms (seizures) but have no effect on the underlying ...

Research progress on the role of inflammatory mediators in the pathogenesis of epilepsy

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 44-58, Spring 2025.
In the central nervous system, activated immune cells lead to the overproduction of inflammatory mediators through the corresponding signal pathway. Under the stimulation of inflammatory factors, neuroinflammation ultimately occurs. Overexpression of inflammatory mediators and activated immunocytes plays an important role in the emergence and ...

Sorghum T2T pangenome highlights comprehensive genomic variation

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Three newly assembled telomere‐to‐telomere (T2T) genomes representing wild, landrace, and transformable germplasm were integrated with seven publicly available T2T genomes to construct a graph‐based pangenome. Comparative analyses revealed extensive centromere divergence, including distinct CEN137 monomer and CEN274 dimer organization, and showed that ...
