The Effect of Icing on Hamstring Muscle with Nordic Hamstring Exercise
Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, 2021The purpose of this study was the effect of icing on the muscle activity of Hamstring muscles during Nordic Hamstring Exercise after applying the icing. Twenty-eight healthy men participated in this study. Subjects were assigned to experiment and control groups.

Assisted or unassisted Nordic Hamstring Exercise? — Resistance exercise determinants at a glance
Sports Biomechanics, 2021The Nordic Hamstring Exercise (NHE) effectively strengthens the knee flexors. Typically conducted without assistance, extended knee angles are not reached with sustained muscle activation in the presence of insufficient eccentric strength and/or fatigue. This might impair the desired neuromuscular adaptations and assessment accuracy.

Kinematic and electromyographic analysis of the Nordic Hamstring Exercise
Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, 2013The Nordic Hamstring Exercise (NHE) has been introduced as a training tool to improve the efficiency of eccentric hamstring muscle contraction. The aim of this study was to perform a biomechanical analysis of the NHE. Eighteen participants (20.4±1.9years) performed two sets of five repetitions each of the NHE and maximal eccentric voluntary contraction

Eccentric training proved to be effective in hamstring injury prevention; however, little is known about effects of eccentric hamstring training at long muscle length on hamstring flexibility. Hence, the aim was to evaluate the effect of eccentric training at long muscle lengths on flexibility and passive properties of the hamstring muscles.

Context: This study aimed to examine the differences in electromyographic (EMG) activity of the biceps femoris long head (BFlh) and semitendinosus (ST) muscles, break-point angle (BPA), and the angle at peak BFlh EMG activity between bilateral and unilateral Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE) on a sloped platform. Design: This study was designed as a case-
