Revisiting the Marcus–de Oliveira Conjecture
The Marcus–de Oliveira determinantal conjecture claims that the determinant of the sum of two normal matrices A and B with the prescribed spectra σ(A)={a1,⋯,an} and σ(B)={b1,⋯,bn}, respectively, is contained in the convex hull of the points zσ=∏i=1n(ai ...

A characterization of matrix variate normal distribution
The joint normality of two random vectors is obtained based on normal conditional with linear regression and constant covariance matrix of each vector given the value of the other without assuming the existence of the joint density.

Structured Distance to Normality of Dirichlet–Neumann Tridiagonal Toeplitz Matrices
This paper conducts a rigorous study on the spectral properties and operator-space distances of perturbed Dirichlet–Neumann tridiagonal (PDNT) Toeplitz matrices, with emphasis on their asymptotic behaviors. We establish explicit closed-form solutions for

Some New Algebraic Method Developments in the Characterization of Matrix Equalities
Algebraic expressions and equalities can be constructed arbitrarily in a given algebraic framework according to the operational rules provided, and thus it is a prominent and necessary task in mathematics and applications to construct, classify, and ...

Histological Assessment of Endochondral Ossification and Bone Mineralization
Finely tuned cartilage mineralization, endochondral ossification, and normal bone formation are necessary for normal bone growth. Hypertrophic chondrocytes in the epiphyseal cartilage secrete matrix vesicles, which are small extracellular vesicles ...

Matrix Metalloproteinases in Normal Pregnancy and Preeclampsia [PDF]
Normal pregnancy is associated with marked hemodynamic and uterine changes that allow adequate uteroplacental blood flow and uterine expansion for the growing fetus. These pregnancy-associated changes involve significant uteroplacental and vascular remodeling. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are important regulators of vascular and uterine remodeling.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
