Study on Hydrogen Embrittlement Sensitivity of L245 Seamless Steel Pipe Under 4 MPa H2 Environment [PDF]
In order to investigate the hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of the low-grade pipeline steel in medium-pressure hydrogen environment, the hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of L245 steel in air environment and 4 MPa hydrogen environment was studied by ...

Notch (In)Sensitivity of Aluminum Matrix Syntactic Foams [PDF]
Aluminum alloy (Al99.5 or AlSi12)-based metal matrix syntactic foams (MMSFs) were produced by pressure infiltration with ~65 vol % Globocer filler (33 wt % Al2O3, 48 wt % SiO2, 19 wt % Al2O3∙SiO2). The infiltrated blocks were machined by different geometry tools in order to produce notched samples.

A Consideration on the Notch Sensitivity of Steel
The nominal yield stress was measured on centrally perforated plate specimen which was machined from various steels with a wide range of transition temperature measured by V-Charpy test. The load for yielding was determined from the stress-strain curve which was obtained using SR 4 gauge put in touch with the circumference of the hole.

Notch sensitivity of mammalian mineralized tissues in impact [PDF]
The toughness of bone is an important feature in preventing it from fracturing. We consider the notch sensitivity in impact, and the associations between brittleness, notch sensitivity and post-yield energy absorption of mammalian mineralized tissues. Specimens of bone-like tissues covering a wide range of mineralization were broken, either notched or ...

Assessing the Notch Sensitivity of High Strength Wires
High strength wires, which have a poor notch sensitivity performance, are currently been used on many offshore applications where high stresses without yielding are demanded. To assess these wires notch sensitivity, an integrated approach was implemented.

Uif, a large transmembrane protein with EGF-like repeats, can antagonize Notch signaling in Drosophila. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Notch signaling is a highly conserved pathway in multi-cellular organisms ranging from flies to humans. It controls a variety of developmental processes by stimulating the expression of its target genes in a highly specific manner both ...

On the Notch-Sensitivity and toughness of A Ceramic Composite [PDF]
A Nicalon TM/SiC fabric (8-harness satin) reinforced alumina matrix (CMC) was loaded in tension to fracture. A coating on the surface of the fibre reduced the strength of the fibre-matrix bond, increased the toughness of the CMC by more than 3 times, and raised the unnotched strength by more than 2 times.
