Novel foods to treat food allergy and gastrointestinal infection [PDF]
The gastrointestinal tract communicates directly with the external environment. Necessary nutrients must be absorbed and commensal bacteria tolerated, and foreign proteins, antigens, and pathogens must be simultaneously excluded or destroyed. Immaturity or disruption of the mucosal immune defenses increases vulnerability to food allergy, intolerance ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Safety of lacto‐N‐tetraose (LNT) as a novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283
Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on lacto‐N‐tetraose (LNT) as a novel food (NF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. The NF is a powdered

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Safety Assessment of Immune-Mediated Adverse Reactions to Novel Food Proteins.
Current international guidelines for the risk assessment of biotechnology-derived foods date back to 2003. We present new strategies and directions for assessing immune adverse reactions to novel food proteins.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
