Typing of alpha and beta coronaviruses by DNA barcoding of NSP12 gene

Journal of Medical Virology, 2022
AbstractSince the spread of the COVID‐19 pandemic, the world paid attention to coronaviruses (CoVs) evolution and their diverged lineages because many researches studies supposed that the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) is evolutionarily developed from a lineage of bats CoVs.

Development and characterization of a new monoclonal antibody against SARS‐CoV‐2 NSP12 (RdRp)

Journal of Medical Virology, 2022
AbstractSARS‐CoV‐2 NSP12, the viral RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), is required for viral replication and is a therapeutic target to treat COVID‐19. To facilitate research on SARS‐CoV‐2 NSP12 protein, we developed a rat monoclonal antibody (CM12.1) against the NSP12 N‐terminus that can facilitate functional studies.

In-Silico Analysis to Identify Potential Inhibitors Against the Protein NSP12 of SARS-CoV-2

International Journal of Quantitative Structure-Property Relationships, 2021
In this pandemic condition, a drug candidate which is effective against COVID-19 is very much desired. This study initiates an in silico analysis to screen small molecules such as phytochemicals, drug metabolites, and natural metabolites against Nsp12 (a catalytic unit for RNA transcription and replication).

Erratum: The RNA polymerase activity of SARS-coronavirus nsp12 is primer dependent

2011
The authors wish to apologise for an error in the concentration of tetracycline used to induce SARS-coronavirus nsp12 expression in E. coli. In the second paragraph of Materials and Methods, the sentence: “Subsequently, the cells were slowly cooled to room temperature, tetracycline was added to a final concentration of 200 μg/ml and the cells were ...

SARS‐CoV‐2 NSP12 utilizes various host splicing factors for replication and splicing regulation

Journal of Medical Virology
Abstract The RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) is a crucial element in the replication and transcription of RNA viruses. Although the RdRps of lethal human coronaviruses severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), SARS‐CoV, and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS‐CoV) have been extensively studied ...
