Nsp3-N interactions are critical for SARS-CoV-2 fitness and virulence
SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent of COVID-19 encodes at least 16 nonstructural proteins of variably understood function. Nsp3, the largest nonstructural protein contains several domains, including a SARS-unique domain (SUD), which occurs only in Sarbecovirus .

Recognition of the Rotavirus mRNA 3′ Consensus by an Asymmetric NSP3 Homodimer [PDF]
Rotaviruses, the cause of life-threatening diarrhea in humans and cattle, utilize a functional homolog of poly(A) binding protein (PABP) known as nonstructural protein 3 (NSP3) for translation of viral mRNAs. NSP3 binds to viral mRNA 3' consensus sequences and circularizes the mRNA via interactions with eIF4G.

RNA interference (RNAi) is vital for eukaryotes to defend against virus infection. The C3PO complex takes part in RNAi but its role in regulating viral infection remains unclear. This work finds that insect C3PO facilitates arbovirus replication by degrading precursors of miRNAs, especially miR‐971‐3p.
