Nuclear factor-kappa B, cancer, and apoptosis.
The role of nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B in the regulation of apoptosis in normal and cancer cells has been extensively studied in recent years. Constitutive NF-kappa B activity in B lymphocytes as well as in Hodgkin's disease and breast cancer cells protects these cells against apoptosis.

Crocodylian nuclear factor kappa B
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2017We deduced the amino acid (aa) sequence of the nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB) protein from genomic data for the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis), the estuarine crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), and the Indian gharial (Gavialis gangeticus).

Nuclear factor-kappa B and effector molecules in photoaging
Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology, 2022Nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) has important but complex functions in the photoaging of the human skin. This protein complex is activated upon UV irradiation and plays a key role in the signalling pathway of the inflammatory cascade. NF-κB induces the expression of various proinflammatory cytokines, such as tumour necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin ...

Nuclear factor kappa B and hepatitis viruses
Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, 2008Hepatitis can be caused by a number of viruses, which have similar clinical manifestations and render infected individuals at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer. Current therapies for hepatitis have limited effects and unsatisfactory patient outcomes.

Nuclear Factor-Kappa B: From Clone to Clinic
Current Molecular Medicine, 2007Nuclear transcription factor kappaB (NF-kappaB) was first discovered in 1986 in the nucleus of the B cell as an enhancer in the kappa immunoglobulin chain. However, this factor has identified in the cytoplasm in the resting state. When activated in response to inflammatory stimuli, carcinogens, stress, ionizing radiation, and growth factors; NF-kappaB ...

Activation of nuclear factor kappa B in Crohn's disease
Inflammation Research, 1998The location and degree of activation of nuclear factor kappa (NFkappaB), a primary transcription factor that plays a regulating role in immune and inflammatory responses, was determined in Crohn's disease using full thickness specimens of bowel collected at surgery.Resected specimens of inflamed and non-inflamed bowel were collected from thirteen ...

The Transcription Factor Nuclear Factor-kappa B and Cancer
Clinical Oncology, 2007Since the discovery of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappaB) in 1986, many studies have been conducted showing the link between the NF-kappaB signalling pathway and control of the inflammatory response. Today it is well known that control of the inflammatory response and apoptosis is closely related to the activation of NF-kappaB.

Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Activation by Particles and Fibers
Inhalation Toxicology, 2000In recent years, particle research has focused on activation pathways of transcription factors that are known to regulate genes whose abnormal expression is associated with the pathogenesis of particle-associated lung disorders such as fibrosis, cancer, COPD, and asthma.
