Gamma-rays from natSn and natC induced by fast neutrons

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2016
The cross-sections of prompt gamma-ray production from natSn and natC elements induced by 14.1-MeV neutrons were measured. The time-of-flight technique was used for n-γ discrimination.

Dynamical phase transitions in quantum mechanics

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
The nucleus is described as an open many-body quantum system with a non-Hermitian Hamilton operator the eigenvalues of which are complex, in general. The eigenvalues may cross in the complex plane (exceptional points), the phases of the eigenfunctions ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Long-standing problem: The nuclear level density angular-momentum dependence and isomeric data assessment

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Recent ^{91,92,93}Tc activation for deuterons incident on ^{nat}Mo has become a challenge for the nuclear level density (NLD) angular-momentum dependence. Actually, replacement of the moment of inertia rigid-body value I_{r} by half of it, within a given

Theoretical study of cross sections of proton-induced reactions on cobalt

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2018
Nuclear fusion may be among the strongest sustainable ways to replace fossil fuels because it does not contribute to acid rain or global warming. In this context, activated cobalt materials in corrosion products for fusion energy are significant in ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Imprint of pairing correlation in (n, γ) and Maxwellian-averaged cross sections of an odd-odd 166Ho nucleus

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The present paper investigates the impact of pairing correlation on the nuclear level density (NLD) and radiative strength function (RSF) of an odd-odd and rare-earth 166Ho nucleus. By employing the exact thermal pairing (EP) solution in conjunction with

DFT STUDY OF THE TUBULAR SIZE EFFECTS ON THE PROPERTIES OF ZIGZAG BORON NITRIDE NANOTUBES

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia, 2017
Density functional theory (DFT) studies were performed on representative zigzag models of boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) with different structural sizes. To achieve minimized-energy structures and their properties, first, optimization calculations were

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
