OXCT1‐driven succinylation of PSMG3 stabilizes the proteasome to facilitate picornavirus replication

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Upon entering the pig, foot‐and‐mouth disease virus (FMDV) regulates host glycolysis and the citrate cycle by modulating the expression of metabolic enzymes, resulting in changes in post‐translational modifications (PTMs) including succinylation, lactylation, crotonylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation.

The Epitope Study on the SARS-CoV Nucleocapsid Protein

open access: yesGenomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, 2003
Abstract The nucleocapsid protein (N protein) has been found to be an antigenic protein in a number of coronaviruses. Whether the N protein in severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) is antigenic remains to be elucidated.

Molecular characterization of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology
Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly prevalent and potent infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Until now, the world is still endeavoring to develop new ways to diagnose and treat COVID-19.

Mixed lineage kinase 3 mediates SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury via the Hsp70‐IL‐17A axis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Kidney samples from patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) showed upregulated expression and activity of Mixed Lineage Kinase (MLK3). Based on the mechanistic studies, we identified MLK3 as a critical player in promoting SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury.

Assembly of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein with nucleic acid [PDF]

open access: yes
The viral genome of SARS-CoV-2 is packaged by the nucleocapsid (N-)protein into ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs), 38 ± 10 of which are contained in each virion. Their architecture has remained unclear due to the pleomorphism of RNPs, the high

Recent Advances (2023–2025) of Capillary Electrophoresis‐Mass Spectrometry (CE‐MS) for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Top‐down proteomics (TDP) characterizes proteoforms in cells, tissues, and biofluids, in discovery mode and on a global scale, requiring analytical tools with high peak capacity for proteoform separation and high sensitivity for proteoform detection, given the extremely high proteoform complexity and wide proteoform concentration dynamic range.

Retrospective on the all-in-one retroviral nucleocapsid protein

open access: yesVirus Research, 2014
This review aims at briefly presenting a retrospect on the retroviral nucleocapsid protein (NC), from an unspecific nucleic acid binding protein (NABP) to an all-in-one viral protein with multiple key functions in the early and late phases of the retrovirus replication cycle, notably reverse transcription of the genomic RNA and viral DNA integration ...

Artificial Intelligence for Identifying Tumor‐Reactive CD8+ T Cells: Biological Principles, Computational Advances, and Future Directions

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
This review details a three‐stage paradigm shift for tumor‐reactive CD8+ T‐cell identification: decoding transcriptomic states, deciphering clonal functional efficacy, and molecular‐level therapeutic TCR design. Addressing translational hurdles and generative AI “scientific blind spots”—such as missing catch bonds—we present a visionary roadmap.
