Migrasomes, Matrix‐Bound Nanovesicles, and More: Messengers in the Matrix
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) and particles (EPs) are diverse micro‐ and nanoparticles that circulate in bodily fluids and can attach to, or be deposited onto, the extracellular matrix (ECM) and other surfaces. To date, the nomenclature and classification of matrix‐bound or matrix‐associated EVs and EPs (MEVPs) have been unclear, largely due to

A Purification of venom phosphodiesterase [PDF]
For purposes of analysis of polynucleotides, it is desirable to have a phosphodiesterase, substantially free of 5-nucleotidase or other phosphatase activity.

Upregulation of inducible NO synthase by exogenous adenosine in vascular smooth muscle cells activated by inflammatory stimuli in experimental diabetes [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Adenosine has been shown to induce nitric oxide (NO) production via inducible NO synthase (iNOS) activation in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Although this is interpreted as a beneficial vasodilating pathway in vaso-occlusive disorders,

Is there a role for cannabidiol in obesity, metabolic syndrome and binge eating?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.

Extracellular Adenosine Formation by Ecto-5'-Nucleotidase (CD73) Is No Essential Trigger for Early Phase Ischemic Preconditioning. [PDF]
Adenosine is a powerful trigger for ischemic preconditioning (IPC). Myocardial ischemia induces intracellular and extracellular ATP degradation to adenosine, which then activates adenosine receptors and elicits cardioprotection.

Nucleotide metabolic mismatches in mammalian hearts: implications for transplantation [PDF]
INTRODUCTION: Human donor organ shortages have led surgeons and scientists to explore the use of animals as alternative organ sources. Acute thrombovascular rejection (AVR) is the main hurdle in xenotransplantation.

Zebrafish Tgds, when expressed as a recombinant protein, catalyzes the dehydration of UDP‐D‐glucose, the initial step in the formation of 6‐deoxyhexoses. Corresponding Tgds mutations found in Catel–Manzke syndrome patients lead to reduced enzymatic activity and stability.

We have examined 36 liquidators (participants in emergency clean-up after the Chernobylnuclear accident) many years after the external γ-irradiation (on average (143.0 ± 14.0) mGy for (3.3 ± 0.8) months) and 13 workers of a typical research nuclear ...
