A varying time-step explicit numerical integration algorithm for solving motion equation

open access: yes, 2005
If a traditional explicit numerical integration algorithm is used to solve motion equation in the finite element simu- lation of wave motion, the time-step used by numerical integration is the smallest time-step restricted by the stabil- ity criterion in

Energy conservation in modified Nyström methods for separable Hamiltonian systems

open access: yes, 2003
Numerical integration methods that preserve structural properties of time dependent differential equations have often improved stability and smaller errors in long-term simulations than classical standard methods like Runge-Kutta or BDF.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Benchmarking of implicit numerical integration methods for stiff unified constitutive equations in metal forming applications

open access: yesCogent Engineering
Unified constitutive equations have been developed to model the behaviour of metallic materials under various processing conditions. These constitutive equations usually take the form of a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), which must be ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A Frequency Analysis of Monte-Carlo and other Numerical Integration Schemes

open access: yes, 2011
The numerical calculation of integrals is central to many computer graphics algorithms such as Monte-Carlo Ray Tracing. We show that such methods can be studied using Fourier analysis.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
