A Quantitative Approach to Universal Numerical Integrators (UNIS) with Computational Application

open access: yesHuman-Centric Intelligent Systems
In this paper, we examine the mathematics that makes it possible to couple a conventional numerical integrator (e.g., Euler, Runge-Kutta, among others) with some universal approximator of functions (e.g., artificial neural networks, fuzzy inference ...

Research on knowledge-sharing decisions in the logistics service supply chain

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
PurposeThis study investigates the knowledge-sharing decision-making mechanisms in logistics service supply chains (LSSCs), focusing on the strategic interactions between logistics service integrators and providers.Design/methodology/approachThe study ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

A class of implicit symmetric symplectic and exponentially fitted Runge–Kutta–Nyström methods for solving oscillatory problems

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
The construction of implicit Runge–Kutta–Nyström (RKN) method is considered in this paper. Based on the symmetric, symplectic, and exponentially fitted conditions, a class of implicit RKN integrators is obtained.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Genetic algorithm for design optimization of multibody dynamics using differential–algebraic equation integrators

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
Based on the general model of design optimization of multibody dynamics, a modified genetic algorithm with adaptive crossover and mutation rates is developed to find optimal design variables which satisfy the dynamic constraints and obtain optimum ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Solving oscillatory problems using a block hybrid trigonometrically fitted method with two off-step points

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
A continuous hybrid method using trigonometric basis (CHMTB) with two "off-step" points is developed and used to produce three discrete hybrid methods which are simultaneously applied as numerical integrators by assembling them into a block hybrid ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
