Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The INTERNODES method for the treatment of non-conforming multipatch geometries in Isogeometric Analysis

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we apply the INTERNODES method to solve second order elliptic problems discretized by Isogeometric Analysis methods on non-conforming multiple patches in 2D and 3D geometries.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

On Transmit Beamforming for MISO-OFDM Channels With Finite-Rate Feedback

open access: yes, 2015
With finite-rate feedback, we propose two feedback methods for transmit beamforming in a point-to-point MISO-OFDM channel. For the first method, a receiver with perfect channel information, quantizes and feeds back the optimal transmit beamforming ...

Numerical continued fraction interpolation

open access: yesUkrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal
UDC 517.524 We show that highly accurate approximations can often be obtained by constructing Thiele interpolating continued fractions by a Greedy selection of the interpolation points together with an early termination condition. The obtained results are comparable with the outcome of state-of-the-art rational interpolation techniques based on the ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Study of a Numerical Integral Interpolation Method for Electromagnetic Transient Simulations

open access: yesEnergies
In the fixed time-step electromagnetic transient (EMT)-type program, an interpolation process is applied to deal with switching events. The interpolation method frequently reduces the algorithm’s accuracy when dealing with power electronics.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
