Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Modeling dynamic and static operating modes of a low-power asynchronous electric drive

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska
The article presents a mathematical model of the asynchronous motor in oblique coordinates, based on differential equations expressed in the standard Cauchy form.

Numerical stability of the multi-step methods to solve the stiff equation by using the CADNA library

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, based on the stochastic arithmetic, the accuracy and stability of multi-step methods to solve the stiff differential equation is studied. By using the CESTAC method and the CADNA library, the optimal iterate and the optimal step size of the multi-step methods can be dynamically computed and its accuracy can be estimated.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Two-step hybrid numerical integrators for the solutions of highly oscillatory systems of ODEs with fixed step size

open access: yesScientific African
Collocation methods have shown great promise in developing numerical techniques for solving stiff and highly oscillatory problems in ordinary differential equations.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Improved Rosenbrock method with error estimator and Jacobian approximation using complex step

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
This paper proposes an A-stable one-stage Rosenbrock method for the solution of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). In this method, Jacobians are approximated via complex step finite differences. An asymptotically accurate estimator of the truncation

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...
