Comparative Evaluation of Nutrient Digestibility in Beagle Dogs of Different Life Stages [PDF]

open access: yesAnimals
This study evaluated age-related changes in nutrient digestibility in dogs and examined the effects of physiological development and dietary composition on digestive efficiency. Twenty Beagle dogs were assigned to three groups: puppies (

Multienzyme Super-Dosing in Broiler Chicken Diets: The Implications for Gut Morphology, Microbial Profile, Nutrient Digestibility, and Bone Mineralization

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Optimizing gut health has a large impact on nutrient digestibility and bioavailability, and super-dosing feed enzymes may be one solution to achieve this.

Effect of Graded Levels of Fiber from Alfalfa Meal on Nutrient Digestibility and Flow of Fattening Pigs

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2014
The fiber level and composition have an important effect on nutrient digestibility of swine diets. Little information is known about the effects of fiber level and composition from alfalfa meal on nutrient digestibility of fattening pigs fed a corn ...

Nutrient digestibility in black soldier fly larva was greater than in adults for pigs and could be estimated using fiber

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Technology, 2023
The objectives of the present study were to determine the nutrient digestibility of fish meal, defatted black soldier fly larvae (BSFL), and adult flies and to develop equations for estimating in vitro nutrient digestibility of BSFL for pigs.

Effect of Probiotic Supplementation on Nutrients Digestibility and Intestinal Histomorphology of Growing Rabbits [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Animal and Poultry Production, 2023
This study aimed to investigate how adding probiotics to the diet of growing rabbits affects nutrient digestion and intestinal histomorphology. The experiment involved fifteen New Zealand White rabbits, which were 12 weeks old and weighed an average of ...

Modulation of digestibility of canine food using enzyme supplement: an in vitro simulated semi-dynamic digestion study

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2023
Digestibility and nutrient availability are important parameters when estimating the nutritional quality of pet food. We have developed a simulated semi-dynamic in vitro canine digestion model to evaluate the digestibility of dry extruded canine food ...

Nutrient digestibility and balance studies

open access: yes, 2020
The nutritional value of a feed for cattle depends on its nutrient and energy contents, the extent of rumen fermentation and degradation, and the post-ruminal digestibility. Efficiency of digestion depends on different factors, for example, the apparent digestibility (estimated by subtracting the nutrients contained in faeces from the nutrients ...

The inhibition of nutrient digestion by wheat pentosans [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Nutrition, 1992
Two pentosan-rich fractions (water-extractable, WEP, and alkali-extractable, AEP) were isolated from a wheat milling by-product. When both WEP and AEP were added to a commercial-type broiler diet the apparent metabolizable energy (AME), nitrogen retention, feed utilization and growth of broilers were significantly (P < 0.001) depressed.
