Roles of Long-Term Flux Observations as the Global Change Study and the Current Topics

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Meteorology, 2003
Continuous long term micrometeorological CO2 flux observation has become an essential component to accurate determine CO2 uptake in terrestrial ecosystems after COP3. Because the intergovernmental agreement on CO2 emission control (Kyoto protocol) allows each country to subtract the annual accumulation of CO2 uptake by their ecosystems from the total ...

Efficacy, safety, and cost evaluation of the topical luliconazole therapy versus topical clotrimazole therapy in patients with localized dermatophytosis in a tertiary care hospital: An observational study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied and Basic Medical Research, 2020
Dermatophytosis is a superficial fungal infection that has high affinity for keratinized tissues of the body. The treatment of localized dermatophytosis is a major concern for the dermatologist especially in tropical countries like India. Various topical antifungals are available for the treatment of localized uncomplicated dermatophytosis ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
