ABSTRACT End‐of‐life conversations with adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer rarely occur without the guidance of healthcare professionals. As a part of the ‘Difficult Discussions’ study, focused on palliative care and advance care planning discussions with AYAs with cancer, we investigated the factors that healthcare professionals identify ...

ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Splitting dynamics of quantized composite vortices in holographic miscible binary superfluids
The stability properties and splitting dynamics of multiply quantized vortices are the subject of interest in both theoretical and experimental investigations. Going beyond the regime of validity of Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE), we study the composite

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Algebra diagrams: a HANDi introduction [PDF]
A diagrammatic notation for algebra is presented – Hierarchical Al- gebra Network Diagrams, HANDi. The notation uses a 2D network notation with systematically designed icons to explicitly and coherently encode the fun- damental concepts of algebra.

Exponential localization of Wannier functions in insulators
The exponential localization of Wannier functions in two or three dimensions is proven for all insulators that display time-reversal symmetry, settling a long-standing conjecture.
