Broad-specificity photoelectrochemical immunoassay for the simultaneous detection of ochratoxin A, ochratoxin B and ochratoxin C

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2018
A broad-specific photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunosensor was developed for the simultaneous detection of ochratoxin A, ochratoxin B and ochratoxin C (OTA, OTB, OTC) by using the direct growth of CdS nanorods on FTO as the photoelectrode and Au nanoflowers-modified glass carbon electrode (GCE) as the bioelectrode.

Synthesis of ochratoxins TA and TC, analogs of ochratoxins A and C

Experientia, 1974

Effect of ochratoxin A and ochratoxin C on the monocyte and lymphocyte function

Mycotoxin Research, 2002
The effect of practically relevant mycotoxin concentrations on functions of immune cells was studied in in vitro experiments. Porcine mononuclear cells were exposed to a crudeAspergillus-ochraceus toxin containing OTA, a HPLC fraction identical with OTC derived from the crude toxin (RE2), as well as pure OTA and OTC in a concentration range from 0.46 ...

Ochratoxins: A global perspective

Mycopathologia, 2006
Ochratoxins have been overshadowed by better-known mycotoxins, but they are gaining importance. Here we consider ochratoxins in the context of aflatoxins, which are better understood than ochratoxins on many levels. We review recent work on taxonomic distribution, contamination of commodities, biosynthesis, toxicity and regulatory aspects of ...

Interaction of citrinin and ochratoxin A

Natural Toxins, 1994
AbstractThe mycotoxins citrinin and ochratoxin A are produced in common by some molds and have been found together in a number of foods and animal feeds. We used in vitro tests to determine if the Same effects are produced by these two mycotoxins when they act both independently and together.

The dialysis of Ochratoxin A (OTA)

Mycotoxin Research, 2001
Standard dialysis did not result in a decrease of the OTA level in the blood serum of patients regularly treated by dialysis. Therefore, we examined the effect of dialysis on both OTA bound to the blood plasma proteins and free OTA. We carried out an in vivo experiment to determine OTA levels in the serum of patients in the terminal stage of chronic ...

Determination of ochratoxin A in beer

Food Additives and Contaminants, 1995
Because of concern about possible transmission of ochratoxin A (OA) from contaminated grain adjuncts, development of a sensitive method for its determination in beer was investigated. Solid phase extraction (SPE) on C-18 and silica gel columns in series and on an immunoaffinity column (OchraTest) were used to obtain extracts for quantitation by reverse

Immunotoxic activity of ochratoxin A

Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2006
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is an immunosuppressant fungal compound, produced by toxigenic species ofAspergillusandPenicilliumfungi in a wide variety of climates and geographical regions. The contamination of food by this mycotoxin takes place primarily during preharvest periods. Almost all types of food can be contaminated.

Ochratoxins

2000
Abstract Ochratoxins are mycotoxins containing a chlorinated dihydroisocoumarin linked through a 7-carboxyl group to Lphenylalanine by an amide bond. The major toxin, ochratoxin A, also exists in the hydroxylated form; in contrast, its dechloro analog, ochratoxin B, is considered less toxic.

Synthesis of analogues of ochratoxin A

Natural Product Research, 2012
Four analogues of ochratoxin A (OTA) differing for the aminoacidic moiety were synthesised using ochratoxin α (OTα) as the starting material. The condensation reaction between protected amino acids and OTα, carried out in the presence of 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC • HCl) and N-hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBt) as ...
