Scent Goes Digital: The Role of Insect Odorant Binding Proteins in Modern Technology
This review delves into bioinspired olfactory biosensors, focusing on insect odorant binding proteins (OBPs) as core elements of hybrid bionic platforms for volatile compound detection. Highlighting the development of the biological electronic nose (BE‐NOSE), it examines current prototypes, outlines advantages over conventional methods, and explores ...

OBP1 plays an essential role in the behavior response of Aedes aegypti. The computational approaches employed herein suggest a compound with repellency activity in the ZINC database, which was confirmed by bioassays. ABSTRACT Aedes aegypti is the most important vector of arboviruses, which are responsible for 3.9 billion cases worldwide.

Light‐withering and dark‐withering treatments modulate the flavor profile of White Peony tea by altering the composition and abundance of volatile compounds during processing. Integrated metabolomic and sensomic analyses identified five key aroma‐active compounds—linalool, (Z)‐3‐hexen‐1‐ol, (E)‐2‐hexenal, benzeneacetaldehyde, and β‐ionone—that ...

A carboxylesterase, Esterase-6, modulates sensory physiological and behavioral response dynamics to pheromone in Drosophila [PDF]
Conclusions: Our study presents evidence that Est-6 plays a role in the physiological and behavioral dynamics of sex pheromone response in Drosophila males and supports a role of Est-6 as an odorant-degrading enzyme (ODE) in male antennae.

A novel botanical Lujiu with distinctive flavor characteristics was successfully developed based on Jiang‐flavor baijiu through laboratory‐scale production. Optimized quantitative analysis identified key aroma‐active compounds through a sensomics approach, and a high‐sensitivity method was validated.
