Population-level analyses identify host and environmental variables influencing the vaginal microbiome

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy
The vaginal microbiome is critical for the reproductive health of women, yet the differential impacts exerted by the host and by ambient environmental variables on the vaginal microbiome remain largely unknown.

DOT1L Drives Endothelial‐to‐Mesenchymal Transition and Fibrotic Vascular Remodeling via H3K79 Methylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DOT1L as a central epigenetic regulator of EndoMT and pulmonary fibrosis. Acting as an early epigenetic switch, it translates TGFβ–SMAD signaling into H3K79me2‐mediated chromatin remodeling, selectively activates fibrosis‐related genes, and primes ECs for rapid mesenchymal transition.

Large deviation results for Critical Multitype Galton-Watson trees

open access: yes, 2016
In this article, we prove a joint large deviation principle in $n$ for the \emph{empirical pair measure} and \emph{ empirical offspring measure} of critical multitype Galton-Watson trees conditioned to have exactly $n$ vertices in the weak topology. From

Embedded CRISPRi Enhances Gene‐Silencing Efficiency in Drosophila

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) technology in Drosophila has limited efficiency. This study introduces the emCRISPRi platform, which significantly enhances transcriptional silencing efficacy by embedding inhibitory domains within the dCas9 architecture.

Inter- and trans-generational impacts of real-world PM2.5 exposure on male-specific primary hypogonadism

open access: yesCell Discovery
Exposure to PM2.5, a harmful type of air pollution, has been associated with compromised male reproductive health; however, it remains unclear whether such exposure can elicit transgenerational effects on male fertility.

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

The ARCCRABP1 neurons play a crucial role in the regulation of energy homeostasis

open access: yesNature Communications
Recent single-cell RNA sequencing study suggested that CRABP1 expressing neurons in the arcuate nucleus (ARCCRABP1 neurons) were a distinct group of neurons. However, the physiological role of ARCCRABP1 neurons remains unexplored.
