We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Ex Vivo Spatiotemporal Characterization of Spermatogenesis in Mouse Testicular Organoids
Testicular organoids (TOs) offer an opportunity to preserve fertility, but current TO protocols are limited by suboptimal maintenance of the organoid structure, meiotic defects, and incomplete in vitro spermatogenesis (IVS). Here, a strategy is developed

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Large deviation results for Critical Multitype Galton-Watson trees
In this article, we prove a joint large deviation principle in $n$ for the \emph{empirical pair measure} and \emph{ empirical offspring measure} of critical multitype Galton-Watson trees conditioned to have exactly $n$ vertices in the weak topology. From

Low-density genotype panel for both parentage verification and discovery in a multi-breed sheep population [PDF]
peer-reviewedThe generally low usage of artificial insemination and single-sire mating in sheep, compounded by mob lambing (and lambing outdoors), implies that parentage assignment in sheep is challenging.

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Background Several recent studies reported the potential adverse effects of titanium exposure on glucose homeostasis among the non-pregnant population, but the association of titanium exposure with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is scarce.

Statistical methods for detecting genes associated with sperm competition in natural populations of Drosophila, using blocks of tightly linked single nucleotide polymorphisms : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Statistics at Massey University, Albany, New Zealand [PDF]
The purpose of the project is to develop statistical methods for detecting genes associated with sperm competition in natural populations of Drosophila (fruit flies). The flies' genotype information given by Fiumera et al.
