Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Combining ability and heritability estimates of main agronomic characters in rapeseed breeding lines using line × tester analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade), 2012
To estimate the general and specific combining ability (GCA and SCA) effects of plant height, yield components, seed yield and oil content, three testers and six lines of spring type of rapeseed varieties were crossed using line × tester fashion ...

Accelerating gene function discovery by rapid phenotyping of fatty acid composition and oil content of single transgenic T1 Arabidopsis and camelina seeds

open access: yesPlant Direct, 2020
Arabidopsis is wildly used as a model plant and camelina is increasingly used for oilseed research and applications. Although the Arabidopsis genome has been sequenced for two decades, the functions of many lipid‐related genes and their regulators have ...

A model study of enhanced oil recovery by flooding with aqueous surfactant solution and comparison with theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
With the aim of elucidating the details of enhanced oil recovery by surfactant solution flooding, we have determined the detailed behavior of model systems consisting of a packed column of calcium carbonate particles as the porous rock, n-decane as the ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Rheological Behavior of Food Emulsions Mixed with Saliva: Effect of Oil Content, Salivary Protein Content, and Saliva Type [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, we studied the effect of saliva on the rheological properties of ß-lactoglobulin- and lysozyme-stabilized emulsions, prepared at pH¿=¿6.7 in relation to variation of emulsions- and saliva-related parameters.
