Diverse reactivity of maleimides in polymer science and beyond

open access: yesPolymer International, Volume 74, Issue 4, Page 296-306, April 2025.
This mini‐review provides a thorough overview of maleimide chemistry, highlighting its diverse reactivity in polymer and materials science applications. Abstract Maleimides are remarkably versatile functional groups, capable of participating in homo‐ and copolymerizations, Diels–Alder and (photo)cycloadditions, Michael additions, and other reactions ...

Synthesis and Activity of Six-Membered Cyclic Alkyl Amino Carbene–Ruthenium Olefin Metathesis Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Ru–cyclic alkyl amino carbene (Ru–CAAC) olefin metathesis catalysts perform extraordinarily in metathesis macrocyclization and ethenolysis, but previous studies have been limited to the use of five-membered CAAC (CAAC-5) ligands.

Intramolecular C−H Activation of a Bisphenolate(benzene)-Ligated Titanium Dibenzyl Complex. Competing Pathways Involving α-Hydrogen Abstraction and σ-Bond Metathesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A titanium dibenzyl complex featuring a ligand with two phenolates linked by a benzene-1,3-diyl group was found to undergo thermal decomposition to give toluene and a cyclometalated dimeric complex. The thermal decomposition followed first-order kinetics

Kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
The process of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents was examined by kinetic studies and quantum chemical calculations. Abstract The kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene initiated by sec‐butyllithium were examined in saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon solvents, i.e. cyclohexane, cyclohexene, 4‐vinylcyclohexene and dl‐

Olefin Metathesis Reaction in Water and in Air Improved by Supramolecular Additives

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
A range of water-immiscible commercially available Grubbs-type precatalysts can be used in ring-closing olefin metathesis reaction in high yields. The synthetic transformation is possible in pure water under ambient conditions.

Metathesis access to monocyclic iminocyclitol-based therapeutic agents

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2011
By focusing on recent developments on natural and non-natural azasugars (iminocyclitols), this review bolsters the case for the role of olefin metathesis reactions (RCM, CM) as key transformations in the multistep syntheses of pyrrolidine-, piperidine ...

Olefin Metathesis. II.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1975
Unsolvated Grignard reagents with WCl6 are effective cocatalysts in the olefin metathesis. Activity of WCl6-BuMgI in benzene medium is comparable with those derived from BuLi. The optimum ratio of BuMgI to WCl6 was 2.0, and products of Friedel-Crafts reaction were less than 3% when the ratio was more than 1.5.
