Finding the oleic acid amount in 4 different types of oil by Acid – Base Titration Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Anywhere in the world most people use vegetable oil in every area of their life. Food, health, mechanic, hygiene and so on… But how people choose the kind of oil that they will use?

An investigation into the conversion of specific carbon atoms in oleic acid and methyl oleate to particulate matter in a diesel engine and tube reactor

open access: yes, 2015
The paper is concerned with particulate formation from the fuels oleic acid and methyl oleate. In particular the paper reports, quantitatively, the propensity of individual carbon atoms in these two molecules in being converted to particulate.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Genetic analysis of oleic acid and linoleic acid content in relation to oil quality in groundnut

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2018
The present study was conducted to estimate the heritability as well as relationship of oleic acid and linoleic acid with oil quality parameters among the backcross progenies in BC1F4 and BC1F5 generation of groundnut.

Liquid Phase Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Window into the Early Stages of Complex Material Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

Research Note: Behavioral preference and conditioned taste aversion to oleic acid solution in chickens

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2021
A functional fatty acid taste receptor, GPR120, is present in chicken oral tissues, and chickens show a preference for lipid in feed. However, it remains unclear whether chickens can detect fatty acids.

Protein Kinase C-Fyn Kinase Cascade Mediates the Oleic Acid-Induced Disassembly of Neonatal Rat Cardiomyocyte Adherens Junctions

open access: yes, 2011
Oleic acid (OA) affects assembly of gap junctions in neonatal cardiomyocytes. Adherens junction (AJ) regulates the stability of gap junction integrity; however, the effect of OA on AJ remains largely unexplored.

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Heterogeneous Chlorination of Squalene and Oleic Acid [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Science & Technology, 2018
Washing with chlorine bleach leads to high mixing ratios of gas-phase HOCl. Using two methods that are sensitive to surface film composition-attenuated total reflection fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy and direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS)-we present the first study of the chlorination chemistry that occurs when

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.
