Neural correlates of pure apathy in multiple sclerosis: An exploratory neuroimaging study

Abstract Pure apathy is relatively common in people with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS), but its neural mechanisms remain unexplored. Therefore, we investigated the neural correlates of pure apathy in PwMS, differentiating it from depression. Sixty‐two PwMS underwent neuropsychological assessments and Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans.

Anatomy of spinal CSF loss in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

India ink introduced into the cranial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) compartment of Alligator diffuses along the spinal cord and exits the spinal compartment using perineural flow, resulting in a prominent “ink cuff” forming at the base of the spinal nerve. In Alligator, the region of the ink cuff is drained by a small lymphatic vessel.

Orchestrated molecular changes of proliferative, migratory‐fibrillar, synaptic, and postmigratory compartments align with precocious cortex‐type specification in the early human pallium

Early human cortical development is organized by transient cellular compartments that define cortical types before mature layers form. Analysis of the human fetal pallium (7.5–15 PCW) shows distinct spatiotemporal trajectories for the archicortex, mesocortex, and neocortex, with delayed but accelerated differentiation in allocortical regions.

Reconstruction of native cellular microanatomy in a novel bioengineered full thickness human nasal mucosal construct

Bioengineered tissue constructs are vital technologies employed in in vitro testing of both fundamental biological principles and industrial screening practices. Current approaches to modelling the nasal mucosa in vitro are not representative and are associated with limitations that impact their reliability and predictive value.
