Biobehavioural and cerebral hemodynamic effects of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in healthy individuals [PDF]

open access: yes
The omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) are a unique class of fatty acids that cannot be manufactured by the body, and must be acquired via dietary sources.

Development and Characterization of Omega-3 Tablets - a new administration form for omega-3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Omega-3 fatty acids are used in both nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals in the form of triglycerides and ethyl esters. Administration forms available for omega-3 oil include bulk oil, soft gel capsules, emulsions and some powder compositions.

Association of dietary omega-3 fatty acids intake with all-cause and cardiovascular disease-specific mortality among individuals with cardiovascular disease

open access: yesScientific Reports
Omega-3 fatty acids (omega-3) are widely recognized for their potential benefits in promoting cardiovascular health. However, the precise relationship between dietary omega-3 fatty acid intake and mortality outcomes in participants with established ...

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Risks and benefits of omega 3 fats: Health benefits of omega 3 fats are in doubt

open access: yesBMJ, 2006
EDITOR—In their systematic review of observational studies and randomised controlled trials Hooper et al conclude that omega 3 fats do not have a clear effect on overall mortality, combined cardiovascular events, or cancer.1 ![][1] We do not agree with their approach of pooling α linolenic acid (which is of vegetable origin) with omega 3 fatty ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

The omega-6/omega-3 fatty acid ratio: health implications

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2010
Today, Western diets are characterized by a higher omega-6 and a lower omega-3 fatty acid intake, whereas during the Paleolithic period when human’s genetic profile was established, there was a balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.
