Solitary magnetic perturbations at the ELM onset [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Edge localised modes (ELMs) allow maintaining sufficient purity of tokamak H-mode plasmas and thus enable stationary H-mode. On the other hand in a future device ELMs may cause divertor power flux densities far in excess of tolerable material limits. The

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Robust changes in tropical rainy season length at 1.5 °C and 2 °C

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
Changes in the hydrological cycle are among the aspects of climate change most relevant for human systems and ecosystems. Besides trends in overall wetting or drying, changes in temporal characteristics of wetting and drying are of crucial importance in ...

Phase reconstruction of spectrograms based on a model of repeated audio events

open access: yes, 2015
Phase recovery of modified spectrograms is a major issue in audio signal processing applications, such as source separation. This paper introduces a novel technique for estimating the phases of components in complex mixtures within onset frames in the ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

A Basic Tutorial on Novelty and Activation Functions for Music Signal Processing

open access: yesTransactions of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval
In Music Information Retrieval (MIR), a general goal is to recognize times of novelty within music recordings. This includes estimating structural boundaries through the detection of changes in harmony, tempo, or instrumentation and identifying onsets of
