Sequentiality versus Simultaneity: Interrelated Factor Demand. [PDF]

open access: yes
A structural model is developed and estimated by a maximum likelihood routine to investigate interrelated factor demand subject to nonconvex adjustment costs.

Intelligent adjustment for power system operation mode based on deep reinforcement learning

open access: yesiEnergy
Power flow adjustment is a sequential decision problem. The operator makes decisions to ensure that the power flow meets the system's operational constraints, thereby obtaining a typical operating mode power flow.

Capacitance Control on the Wire Production Line

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The paper presents technical implementation of the electricalcapacitive method to perform in-process measurement of the capacitance per unit length of a single-core electric wire. The design of the electrocapacitive measuring transducer is proposed.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

ESTIMATION OF THE RELATION BETWEEN WEIBULL SEA CLUTTER AND THE CA-CFAR SCALE FACTOR

open access: yesIngeniería, 2015
When radars operate in coastal or offshore environments, an undesired signal known as clutter appears as background in the measurements. The CA-CFAR detector is the classic solution for the detection of targets inside clutter, typically using a fixed ...

A Ku-Band Foldable Reflectarray Based on a Maltese-Cross Microstrip Element

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника, 2021
Introduction. Reflectarrays have a number of design and functional advantages over their closest analogue - reflector antennas (RA). Although microstrip elements are the most preferred reflectarray elements, single-layer microstrip elements do not allow ...

Research note: an analytical perspective on market decisions and asymmetric cost behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Asymmetric cost behavior has attracted the interest of many (empirical) researchers in the last years. Prior research determines several sources of this behavior such as resource adjustment costs, uncertainties and related beliefs, agency problems ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Protective clothing for workers with 5-kW and 20-kW short-arc lamps [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Two suits of protective clothing reduce hazards to personnel working near short-arc lamps. One suit is worn during assembly or servicing of inoperative 5- and 20-kw lamps.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
