Predicting Operating Speeds of Passenger Cars on Dual–Carriageway Road Tangents

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb)
This research develops multiple linear regression models for predicting operating speeds (V85) of passenger cars on dual–carriageway road tangents in Croatia, separately for the right (driving) and left (overtaking) lanes.

Profile-speed data-based models to estimate operating speeds for urban residential streets with a 30 km/h speed limit

open access: yesIATSS Research, 2013
A speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour (km/h) has been widely introduced for urban residential streets to ensure traffic safety and allow these streets to fulfil other intended functions. However, excessive speeds on these roads are very common, causing

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Operating Speed Models for Low Speed Urban Enviroments based on In-Vehcile GPS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Low speed urban streets are designed to provide both access and mobility, and accommodate multiple road users, such as bicyclists and pedestrians. However, speeds on these facilities often exceed the intended operating speeds as well as their design ...

Influence of Horizontal Curve Radius on Vehicle Fuel Consumption and Pollutant Emissions on Two-Lane Highways

open access: yesZhongwai Gonglu
To investigate the influence of horizontal curve radius on vehicle fuel consumption and pollutant emissions on two-lane highways, this study developed a model based on running speed theory, vehicle driving dynamics, and a fuel consumption and emission ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Speed Harmonization\u2014Design Speed vs. Operating Speed. [PDF]

open access: yes
ICT Project R27-SP30When the actual operating speed on the roads exceeds the design speed, which is common on rural highways, the roadway design may become problematic from a safety point of view.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Social Shaping of Technological Trajectories of Shinkansen

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science, 2016
The Tokaido Shinkansen began operating in 1964 and ran at globally unprecedented speeds of more than 200 kmph. Comparison with the operating speed of aircraft necessitated further improvement of the operating speed of Shinkansen.
