Multifunctional Catechol‐Functionalized Cellulose Hydrogels for the Minimally Invasive Treatment of Acute Optic Nerve Injuries

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Catechol‐functionalized cellulose hydrogels are developed as injectable, bioadhesive platforms for retinal neuroprotection. The hydrogels exhibit tunable rheological and mechanical properties, strong tissue adhesion, and sustained antioxidative activity.

Evaluating the physiological and biochemical responses of melon plants to NaCl salinity stress using supervised and unsupervised statistical analysis

open access: yesPlant Stress, 2022
Salinity is a major environmental issue affecting plant production, particularly in the Middle East. Multivariate data analysis including principal component analysis (PCA), hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), and orthogonal projections to latent ...

Engineering Concentration‐Dependent Intravitreal Mobility via Cyclic Arginine‐Enriched Nanocarrier Surface Modification: In Vivo Proof‐of‐Concept in a Porcine Large Animal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, Hammer et al. highlight cyclic‐arginine surface engineering as a highly biocompatible, controllable, and concentration‐dependent regulator of intravitreal nanoparticle mobility in vivo in a translational large animal model. The cyclic arginine surface‐modification supports the development of next‐generation biomaterials for long‐acting ...

Evaluation of Internet-based pharmaceutical care effect on young and middle-aged patients with hypertension by the principal component analysis and the Markov cohort during COVID-19 pandemic

open access: yesHealth and Quality of Life Outcomes, 2023
Background Pharmaceutical care has the potential to improve hypertension control rates in young and middle-aged patients. Due the COVID-19 epidemic, standard intervention methods may not be applicable.

Angstrom‐Scale Confined Ion Sieve and Accelerator for Efficient Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An angstrom‐scale confined ion accelerator strategy is proposed for ultra‐stable aqueous Zn anodes. Selective and precise transport of hydrated Zn(H2O)62+, Zn2+ cations, H2O molecules, and SO42− anions is achieved by in‐plane atomic Ti vacancies and angstrom‐scale interlayer free spacing within the Ti0.87O2 interfacial layer, leading to homogeneous Zn ...

OPL Script: Composing and Controlling Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This paper is a brief introduction to OPLScript, a script language for composing and controlling optimization models. OPLScript makes it possible to state concisely many applications that require solving several instances of the same model (e.g., to perform some sensivity analysis), a sequence of models, or a combination of both as in column-generation

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Structural, Microstructural, Elastic, and Microplastic Properties of Aluminum Wires (from AAAC (A50) Cables) after Fatigue Tests

open access: yesMetals, 2023
Single Al wires from unused AAAC (A50) cables were studied after laboratory fatigue testing, which simulated processes arising in these wires during their operation in the cables of overhead power lines (OPLs) and are valuable for predicting the lifespan

HNRNPU K181 Lactylation Drives Cervical Cancer Growth by Upregulating PHGDH and Reprogramming Serine Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.
